Fine Art Career

Early in the 1960’s Belle started painting large oil palette knife paintings of flowers. With the 100th anniversary of Canada coming in 1967 Belle decided to paint a series of Provincial flowers.  As with every series, Belle began with a great deal of research, studying the minute details to abstract the subject matter in her own way.  Belle’s solo Provincial Flower exhibit was in 1968 at the Penell Gallery.  Her second solo exhibit at the Penell Gallery in 1969, was a collection of large palette knife abstracts of the calendar months.
